A new compact flagship tablet from Xiaomi might be in the works. The Redmi K Pad recently debuted in the Chinese market with some high-end specs. Now, it appears that the brand is bringing this model to the overseas market as the Xiaomi Pad Mini. So here’s what we know.
Redmi K Pad May Launch Globally as Xiaomi Pad Mini
The latest leak arrives from a tip on Weibo. Xiaomi is reportedly planning on finally bringing the Redmi K Pad to more regions; however, it could be announced under a new name. The global version of the Redmi K Pad could be called the Xiaomi Pad Mini, which would compete with the likes of the iPad Mini. There are likely some minor differences between the Chinese and global variants, but it should retain its flagship specs.

Unfortunately, the tipster did not reveal any key details regarding its features or offer any information about its release timeline. Just last month, the Redmi K Pad was spotted on the TDRA and IMDA certification databases, which hints that the official announcement could be near. Considering how the Xiaomi Pad Mini might be a rebranded Redmi K Pad, we have some idea regarding its hardware.
To recall, the Redmi K Pad sports an 8.8-inch LCD screen with a 3K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, this model is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC, which is paired with up to 16Gb of LPDDR5X/T RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. A sizeable 7,500mAh battery pack powers this tablet, which supports 67W wired fast charging. For optics, the rear has a 13MP camera with LED flash and an 8MP shooter for selfies on the front. Other notable features included Dolby Atmos powered stereo speakers, HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, and dual USB-C ports.
